PRODUCTION MANAGER (EE)

THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
 At least 5 to 8 years Production Management experience in Metal industry or FMCG environment
 Sound technical knowledge of:  Assembly plant processes, Bending, Polishing, & Grinding, Welding, Spray painting and Electrical.
 Proven management skills: planning, organizing , controlling, leading
 Sound communication and team building skills at all levels
 Proven administration skills and have an ability to compile, write and understand  reports
• Sound knowledge of IR in a unionized environment
• Proven ability to handle grievance and disciplinary, absenteeism  processes and related issues
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing an advantage
 
 Grade 12/ Matric certificate  and a Production Diploma or similar
 Red Seal Qualified Sheetmetal or Boiler Making advantageous
 Computer Literacy:  MS Office and Syspro or ERP System
 Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
 
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Ensures compliance with Company quality policies and manuals
• Planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes.
• Ensures that orders are produced to deadline at the right quality standard and cost level.
• Overseeing the production process, drawing up of the production schedule
• Ensuring that production is cost effective
• Assists as required to initiate and justify capital expenditure requests, material resources and additional employee requirements.
• Managing standard times per order
• Promote and maintain effective housekeeping
• Operate the factory with a high emphasis on safety standards and accident prevention
• Control  weekly & monthly non production figures
• Liaise with Sales division and sub-contractors
• Convene regular production meetings internally and externally with subcontractors
• Managing Production Foreman / Supervisors / Team Leaders and supervise the development and implementation of work schedules 
• Previous supervisor of staff essential
